Québec Bus Owners Association is a non-profit organization founded in 1926 by pioneers of bus transport in Québec. QBOA amalgamates businesses offering chartered, airport, intercity, season ticket, tourist, urban, school bus, and paratransit transport services, and this, in all the regions of Québec.

The Bureau de normalisation du Québec (BNQ) elaborates voluntary standards and is accredited by the Standards Council of Canada (SCC). Also accredited as a certification organization, the BNQ has implemented and maintained around forty certification programs aiming to verify standards' normativeness by an independent third party in such diversified fields as environment, health and safety, tourism, urban facilities and transport.

"Bus transport business certification will help without the least doubt this industry to maintain a quality level which will meet the requirement of today's travellers. We are also sold to its value on the safety plan and we wish that it will give rise to all the workers of the bus transport industry the desire to acquire the necessary knowledge to the practice of a more and more demanding occupation which require both qualities of a skilled driver, a good manager, a personal attendant, and even a tourist guide."

Transport by intercity or chartered coach, sightseeing tour services and airport services are ensured by private transport businesses in agreement with the laws and the regulations of the ministère des transports du Québec. It's the Commission des transports du Québec that delivers the licence and it is the Société de l'assurance automobile du Québec - la SAAQ - which ensures the bus inspection and goes behind the validity of the transport licence.

Tourisme Québec has a mission to create favourable requirements to the growth of Québec tourism industry. These conditions involve development, presentation of tourist attractions as well as operation and promotion of all activities linked with tourism in Québec, including coach travels.

Therefore, Tourisme Québec has commited itself financially and has associated itself with other partners to implement the Québec Tourism Industry Quality Program. It is a voluntary adhesion based program aiming to assist businesses in a process long established for its quality by the implementation of service standards. It should allow to enhance the level of service offered to the customers, and to guarantee its evenness and constancy. Bus transport is one of the 10 tourism sectors participating in this program.
